Jack Welch: Winning

Ok, first off I am horrible at writing book reviews. And since I am no longer in 8th grade and am not required to do them, I won't. But I will say that Jack Welch's new book "Winning" is really a great business management book. I don't normally read these types of books, but the recommendations from Warren Buffet and Bill Gates made me think this was not going to be a waste of my time. I'm about half way through the book, and so far I have been very impressed. I always knew Jack was an incredible businessman, but his advice in this book really should be required reading for anyone interested in management, at any level.

One of the first chapters in the book is about how important a companies mission and values are to its success. This is something I have seen both done successfully and unsuccessfully in the past. Having a powerful and focused mission statement can make a company success, same as having a poor or no mission can kill a company. Think about your companies mission statement, can you map what you do on a daily basis to some part of that statement?
