Left-hand Canyon

We just got back from doing Left-hand Canyon with the Land Rover Flatirons dealership. I could not pass it up, my friend Kirby called me yesterday saying they had an opening for their trip up to Left-hand Canyon. Since I have never done that trail before I could not pass it up the chance.

Started out pretty early on Sunday morning, met the crew up at the Flatirons dealership at 7:15 AM. It's a pretty cool setup they have when they do these trips, have food and drinks for everyone, really gets new people interested in off-roading. We headed out to the trail around 8 am. Left-hand it not very far from downtown Boulder, so to drive up was not too bad.

Once on the trail, we had a great time, it was not the hardest trail I have ever done, but it still had several challenging spots. There were several stock Discovery II's and about five brand new LR3's. The LR3's did pretty good, all and all, no one got any damage, and it seemed that all had a great time.

Btw, Hayden and Val had a great time also, this was Hayden's second trip off-roading, and he is already an old pro.

Well we just got back from doing Jenny Creek Trail. It was a really good time, it was Hayden's first off-roading trip, and he had a pretty good time. The weather was not great, but we did not let that stop us. We went out with four other members of the Solihull Society, Jim Hall was our guide, and did a great job.

Since it is still pretty early in the season, we has some snow to break through. The trail is about 3 miles long, but we could only make it up to about the 2 mile mark (about 10600 feet). Just too much snow, Jim make a good try at breaking through the snow, but it was no use, five foot snow drifts were not letting us past.

My new tires did great, did not even come close to getting stuck, and it was really wet and muddy.
